Hi Todd, I can give you a few tips and a link...you have a good start, checking the frame, tongue and undercarriage. Does it have a title? If not, can you get one? I try to stay under 16' and want all the appliances, parts and pieces in place. The…

I've got my eye on an old camping Trailer that has been just sitting behind a farmers barn for the past several years. The weeds have grown up around it and I know it has not been moved in the past 3 to 5 years. I'm looking for a vintage camper to…

Tell US A Little About Yourself!
We've been tent campers for many years. We have an 18' Four Winns open bow boat for skiing and tubing, etc. I also have a Hyde drift boat for fly fishing rivers. Now that the kids are grown I want to find an old vintage camping trailer that needs to be restored. I look forward to the project and once it is done, my wife (Laura) and I can hit the road on weekends and enjoy seeing new places and meeting new people.
Areas currently Rving, planning to RV, or have camped
We've camped mostly in Northern Michigan. We may take a trip to Canada in the next year or so.
Favorite Campgrounds & RV Parks
Mullet Lake State Park, in Northern Michigan. It is part of the Indian River water way that connects Burt Lake to Mullet lake and goes all the way out to Lake Huron. We take our 18' speed boat up and spend the days on the lake and water way and evenings around the camp fire. What a great combination.

I'm looking for a vintage camper to rehab as a project, and use for camping. What should I be looking for when evaluating an old trailer like this? I'm not afraid of having some work to do, but I don't want to put time and money into a bad trailer either. I know enough to look at the fr… Continue

Hey, welcome to our rv community, Todd.

Hope that you enjoy reading and seeing some of our other folks buy, sell and restore their classic trailers. Looking forward to seeing yours in our pictures here someday.

Lots of great deals out there now this time of year.

Anyway, welcome.
