Jimmy, what a great slideshow of phase one of your rebuild. Can't wait to see what you do and eventually the finished restoration! What fun and thanks for saving this good old rv! it's just the right size for dry camping we think too.

Hey, Jim weather is about the same here 150 miles or so west of you in Oklahoma. Part of the cabin roof is still tarped so fingers crossed that it won't leak! Yep, would be great if we could see our folks by state. Only way to do it now is to do a "search" and put in state name and everyone in that state, plus all blog posts pop up. Ain't what we want. I'll ask the techie folks who power our site what they can do for us. Stay tuned... and dry buddy. pat

Sounds good! Depending on the part(s) you need we like vintage trailer supply at: http://www.vintagetrailersupply.com

Or for lens caps, bulbs, hoses, etc. we just go to walmart, the local auto store or if it's specialty general rv stuff we trust pplmotorhomes.com parts dept. they've seen it all, but they are not into vintage. Note... many of the vintage and classic campers you see have lot of wallmart, farmers supply, etc. parts in/on them. Hope the roof is in good shape before spring showers too. tends to get neglected.
Congrats on the purchase! pat

Thanks Pat. We got it home last night, and it has a few issues, but nothing much. A new doorknob, a couple of crank knobs and that is it. We are very happy.. Any suggestions for where to look for the parts? LoL

Pat, When I was looking for an old RV to restore my nieghbor a 3/4 of the year RV'er educated me to the fact that the old Winnebago, Itasca, Coachman, and Gulfstreams all had GM or Ford steel I beam frames, hard roofs with steel truss cross members, and great wall insulation. The wiring in these are easy to trace out and replace. The plumbing is easily accessible. The front end dissasembles easily with lots of room for engine removal and installation. They have on the average of 16 to 20 inches of room to crawl around underneath for repairs.

Pat - Scott's Oasis is a class B I believe, not a trailer. I directed him to a site that has pictures of a 1967 dodge oasis (that I believe is like his). If he can contact the site's author he may be able to get some help there.

Don't know very much about RVing here as we haven't been able to get out and explore. Lake Ray Hubbard is close and has great fishing. It is a hugh lake and we know we are "home" when we come in from Tennessee on I-30. Will post pics in a couple of weeks. Have a lot of projects planed to bring our home back to running shape. Was let set and deteriate for years. Ed

Stay in man that is what the public needs is for someone to show the big company they can't scare and run the little guy off. Hope you the best. Jim
