Depending on the wood, if it is solid wood and not a veneer, You can sand and then bleach. This is most successful on hardwoods such as oak and ash. It is alot of work. A glaze will only fill the grain and "valleys", a white or light glaze will ligh…

Well Amy and I will never purchase a Gulf Stream. The one very important thing to us is how a company stands behind there product and they really failed you.We wish you well.

Sorry to learn about the AC's, but they are sooo important to a great camping trip. Particularly in your neck of the woods. the nice thing about a classic rv like yours (other than everyone being envious) is that you will not only get your money ba…

Hey Pat, It's coming along well. We had to replace both AC's and then took it to Palm Springs a couple of weeks ago. We plan to go back Thanksgiving weekend. Frank thinks he has narrowed down where the short is for the running lights. That will be…

I agree with Henry; sand and start over. It is possible to darken the wood but not the other wayaround. You might be able to bleach the wood after sanding. Before you start any repair, test a tiny unseen area; some wood is a very thin veneer or even…

Frank, Here's Henry's response when I posed the question to him: "I knew you could do it Pat, you finally found a subject I don't have an opinion on. I can put on stain, repair scrapes, cuts and gouges in paneling. And even build new cabinets and m…

My wife and I want to lighten the interior of our coach without replacing the paneling and cabinets because the wood is in excellent condition. We have heard of using glazes but don't know anyone who's used any. Any info would be great.

Hi everyone. We took our coach out for its first run up to Big Bear Lake last weekend. It was a good shake out for the old motorhome. The weather was fantastic and we wish we could of stayed all week. We stayed at the Serrano campground witch is rig…

My wife Amy and myself have been camping now for about 20 years. First in tents then trailer and now our first motorhome. It is a 1977 Kings Highway 27ft thats all original with 14,000 miles. We fell in love with it the moment we saw it.

Kings Highway Maiden Run

Hi everyone. We took our coach out for its first run up to Big Bear Lake last weekend. It was a good shake out for the old motorhome. The weather was fantastic and we wish we could of stayed all week. We stayed at the Serrano campground witch is right across from the lake. If your ever in Southern California don't miss it. Hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend. Amy + Frank

Welcome, Frank & family. What a "find" on your Kings Highway. We really enjoyed seeing your pictures today from a dry camp in the middle of Wyoming. Somehow, we were able to bootleg some wifi to check out your rig and see what's new with other good old rvers.
pat & linda and lady dog somewhere in Wyoming on the road.
